CWNT® – Instructor Certification

CWNT is our instructor certification. Leverage your Wi-Fi and networking expertise and IT instruction experience to teach official authorized CWNP classes. CWNP Learning Partners must employ or contract a CWNT to teach any authorized CWNP training class.
CWNT certified instructors are qualified instructors certified by the CWNP Program to deliver CWNP training courses to IT professionals. CWNTs are technical and instructional experts in enterprise Wi-Fi technologies, products, and solutions. To ensure a superior learning experience for our customers, CWNP Education Partners are required to utilize CWNT certified instructors when conducting authorized CWNP training classes using Official CWNP Courseware.

To be considered for the CWNT certification, applicants must meet the following requirements. For the CWNP certification class level you wish to teach (e.g., CWTS, CWNA, CWSP), you must:

  • Attend an authorized class taught by a CWNT certified instructor
  • Pass the appropriate level exam with a minimum score of at least 80%
  • Have a minimum of 12 months of documented IT industry training experience
  • Have a current technology training certification/degree, such as:
    • Microsoft MCT
    • CompTIA CTT+
    • Novell CNI
    • Cisco CCNI or CCSI
    • JEB Level 3 Certificate
    • Current certification as an instructor by any branch of the Armed Forces
    • College or University Professor

CWNE® – Certified Wireless Network Expert

CWNE is an expert level Wi-Fi certification for the most elite Wi-Fi professionals. Do you have what it takes to be recognized as an expert in enterprise Wi-Fi? If so, start here.
The CWNE (Certified Wireless Network Expert®) credential is the final step in the CWNP Program. By successfully completing the CWNE requirements, you will have demonstrated that you have the most advanced skills available in today’s enterprise Wi-Fi market.

The CWNE certification assures that you have mastered all relevant skills to administer, install, configure, troubleshoot, and design wireless network systems. Protocol analysis, intrusion detection and prevention, performance and QoS analysis, spectrum analysis and management, and advanced design are some of the areas of expertise you will need to know.

CWNE Requirements

The requirements for earning the CWNE certification changed on October 1, 2010, when the CWNE exam (PW0-300) was retired. The new requirements for the CWNE certification are:

  • Valid and current CWSP, CWAP, and CWDP certifications (requires CWNA).
  • Three (3) years of documented enterprise Wi-Fi implementation experience.
  • Three (3) professional endorsements.
  • Two (2) other current, valid professional networking certifications.
  • Documentation of three (3) enterprise Wi-Fi projects in which you participated or led in the form of 500 word essays.
  • Re-certification every three (3) years by passing the most current version of either the CWSP, CWAP, or CWDP exam.

CWAP® – Certified Wireless Analysis Professional

CWAP is an professional level career certification for networkers who are already CWNA certified and have a thorough understanding of RF technologies and applications of 802.11 networks. The CWAP curriculum prepares WLAN professionals to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize any wireless LAN. The CWAP certification is valid for 3 years.The CWAP exam is now available at all Pearson VUE Testing Centers worldwide.

The CWAP certification is a professional level wireless LAN certification for the CWNP Program. The CWAP certification will advance your career by ensuring you have the skills to successfully analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize any enterprise Wi-Fi network, no matter which brand of Wi-Fi gear your organization deploys.

The CWAP exam (PW0-270) IS NOW available at all Pearson VUE Testing Centers worldwide.

About the CWAP Certification

  • To earn the CWAP certification, you must pass 2 exams: PW0-104 and PW0-270.
  • Exam PW0-270 is now available at all Pearson VUE testing centers.
  • The new official CWAP Study Guide from Sybex, authored by David Westcott, David Coleman, Ben Miller, Peter Mackenzie, and Bryan Harkins, will be available in January 2011
  • Official CWAP practice test questions will be available on cwnp.com in the fall of 2010

CWDP is an professional level career certification for networkers who are already CWNA certified and have a thorough understanding of RF technologies and applications of 802.11 networks. The CWDP curriculum prepares WLAN professionals to properly design wireless LANs for different applications to perform optimally in different environments. The CWDP certification is valid for 3 years.The CWDP exam will be available in early 2011.

The CWDPTM certification is a professional level wireless LAN certification for the CWNP Program. The CWDP certification will advance your career by ensuring you have the skills to successfully design enterprise Wi-Fi networks for a variety of different applications, deployments, and environments, no matter which brand of Wi-Fi gear your organization deploys.

The CWDP exam (PW0-250) will be available in early 2011.

CWTS® – Certified Wireless Technology Specialist

CWTS is an entry level certification for sales professionals, project managers, and networkers who are new to enterprise Wi-Fi. Learn what Wi-Fi is before you learn how it works. CWTS is a lifetime certification.

The CWTS certification validates the knowledge of enterprise WLAN sales and support professionals who must be familiar and confident with the terminology and basic functionality of enterprise 802.11 wireless networks.
